Accessibility

Even in our days, students with disabilities face various problems while studying at Universities. The significance of accessibility is evidenced both by publications in the daily print and electronic press, as well as by the fact that questions have been submitted to the Hellenic Parliament. In addition, difficulties in accessibility have been demonstrated in related research. For example, it has been shown that students with visual impairments face the following significant problems: accessibility and mobility in the premises; provision of educational material in the appropriate form (digital books, talking books); access to lectures and examinations; content of announcements; access to information about the program of various activities; and provision of several University services. Similar problems are encountered by other groups of people with disabilities, always in correlation with the nature of their disability.
