English for international relations and economics

English for international relations and economics

The course aims at developing the students’ use of English as this is encountered in research papers, short and extended abstracts, and oral presentations on economic and political topics. The students develop the skills they need to critically analyze talks and orally present research papers in their field of specialization. They earn how to organize their papers, to develop an argument, to analyze and synthesize information from sources and adjust it in their own presentations. The course is assessed by means of an end-of term written exam and optional continuous assessment scheme which includes oral presentations of research papers and a written exam on terminology.
