General competences
The course is an introduction to the basics of the probability theory. The aim is to prepare the student to follow other subjects that require relative knowledge, such as statistics, operations research, etc. Calculations are implemented using the free source software R.
Course Content
1. Data (introduction to R, entry and presentation of data).
2. Modeling uncertainty.
3. Probability: Definitions, basic rules.
4. Random Variable: Discrete, continuous, expected value, conditional rv, independence.
5. Basic theoretical distributions.
6. Basic inequalities, LLN, CLT.
7. Stochastic Process: Definitions, Poisson process, Markov chain.
Assessment
Written examination, a four (4) question paper, very similar to those taught in the class.

Με την ολοκλήρωση του μαθήματος, οι φοιτητές θα είναι σε θέση να:
• απαριθμούν τις μεθοδολογίες ανάλυσης και σχεδίασης πληροφοριακών συστημάτων καθώς και τις φάσεις καθεμιάς
• αναγνωρίζουν και απαριθμούν τις φάσεις ανάπτυξης ενός πληροφοριακού συστήματος και τα περιεχόμενα καθεμιάς
• διακρίνουν τα συστατικά της μελέτης σκοπιμότητας και να εκτελούν μία ανάλυση σκοπιμότητας (feasibility study)
• αναγνωρίζουν τις μεθόδους συλλογής απαιτήσεων και τα συστατικά τους και να εφαρμόζουν και συγκρίνουν τις βασικές στρατηγικές ανάλυσης απαιτήσεων (BPA, BPI, BPR)
• αναλύουν πληροφοριακά συστήματα με τη χρήση διαγραμμάτων της UML (περιπτώσεων χρήσης, κλάσεων, αντικειμένων)
• μοντελοποιούν επιχειρηματικές διαδικασίες με τη χρήση διαγραμμάτων UML δραστηριοτήτων
• σχεδιάζουν πληροφοριακά συστήματα με τη χρήση διαγραμμάτων της UML και να μοντελοποιούν τη συμπεριφορά ενός συστήματος με τη χρήση διαγραμμάτων ακολουθίας
• χρησιμοποιούν ειδικά εργαλεία για ανάλυση και σχεδίαση πληροφοριακών συστημάτων που υποστηρίζουν την UML (όπως το VisualParadigm)
Περιεχόμενο μαθήματος
Το μάθημα στοχεύει στην ανάπτυξη αναλυτικών και συνθετικών δεξιοτήτων μέσα από την κατανόηση και εφαρμογή σύγχρονων μεθόδων για την Ανάλυση και Σχεδίαση Πληροφοριακών Συστημάτων (ΑΣΠΣ) με χρήση της Ενοποιημένες Γλώσσας Μοντελοποίησης - UnifiedModelingLanguage (UML).
Η δομή οργάνωσης του μαθήματος περιλαμβάνει τις ακόλουθες κύριες θεματικές ενότητες:
• Εισαγωγή στην ανάλυση και σχεδίαση πληροφοριακών συστημάτων, την πλατφόρμα ηλεκτρονικής μάθησης που χρησιμοποιείται και το Case Study
• Προετοιμασία: Έναρξη έργου και διαχείριση έργου
• Ανάλυση: Συλλογή απαιτήσεων και σενάρια
• Ανάλυση: Επιχειρηματική Μοντελοποίηση – UML activity diagrams
• Ανάλυση: Λειτουργική μοντελοποίηση – UML useccasecdiagrams
• Ανάλυση: Λειτουργική μοντελοποίηση – UML use case templates
• Ανάλυση: Διεπαφές – HCI design
• Ανάλυση: Δομική μοντελοποίηση – UML class diagrams
• Ανάλυση: Δομική μοντελοποίηση- UML object diagrams
• Σχεδίαση: έννοιες και στρατηγική σχεδιασμού- αναλυτικά UML class diagrams
• Σχεδίαση: Μοντελοποίηση συμπεριφοράς –UML sequence diagrams
• Υλοποίηση: Από τη UML στη Java

Αξιολόγηση φοιτητών
Η αξιολόγηση των φοιτητών βασίζεται σε 3 κύρια κριτήρια με τους αντίστοιχους συντελεστές βαρύτητας:
• Τελική Εξέταση: 50%
• Ομαδική Εργασία (project) 4-5 φοιτητών (ενδιάμεσες εκθέσεις/παρουσιάσεις προόδου, παραδοτέα, τελική αναφορά): 30%
• Ατομικές εργασίες στην τάξη: 20%
Οι φοιτητές ενημερώνονται από την 1η διάλεξη σχετικά με τις υποχρεώσεις, την πολιτική βαθμολόγησης και τις απαιτήσεις της ομαδικής εργασίας εξαμήνου (εκπόνηση έργου και τακτικοί έλεγχοι προόδου/παρουσιάσεις στην τάξη). Στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος, οι φοιτητές (ομάδες 4-5 ατόμων) καλούνται να αναλύσουν και να σχεδιάσουν ένα πληροφοριακό σύστημα με βάση ένα σενάριο, εφαρμόζοντας όλες τις μεθοδολογίες και τα μοντέλα που διδάσκονται.
Στις αρχές του εξαμήνου, ανακοινώνονται οδηγίες, τεχνικές προδιαγραφές, καθώς και ο τρόπος αξιολόγησης των εργασιών. Σε προκαθορισμένες ημερομηνίες όλες οι ομάδες καλούνται να υποβάλουν παρουσιάσεις με την πρόοδο τους και κάποιες ομάδες καλούνται να τις παρουσιάσουν κατά τη διάρκεια του μαθήματος.
Στο μάθημα χρησιμοποιείται ειδικά προσαρμοσμένο Σύστημα Διαχείρισης Μάθησης.
Μετά το πέρας των εξετάσεων, οι βαθμοί εξετάσεων και εργασιών ανακοινώνονται στο σύστημα ασύγχρονης τηλεκπαίδευσης Compus ως πρόσθετο στοιχείο ανατροφοδότησης σχετικά με την τελική επίδοση των φοιτητών.
