Academic Advisor
Responsibilities
The MBA Program taking into account the provisions of article 73 of the Internal Regulation of the University designates faculty members as Academic Advisors for each student who joins the program.
Starting from the spring semester of the academic year 2013-2014, according to the decision of the Program Committee 05/18-12-2013 which was approved by no. 21/13-02-2014 meeting of the Senate of Special Composition, for every postgraduate student attending the MBA Program, a faculty member is appointed by the Curriculum Committee (CCU) as a Curriculum Advisor. The Academic Advisor is responsible for advising students on studies, course selection, thesis and related matters. The appointment is made at the beginning of each new cycle and lasts throughout the postgraduate student's studies.
At the beginning of each study cycle, the students of the first semester are assigned to the teachers of the program in the general context of their duties. Every student is encouraged to meet his/her Academic Advisor, in his/her office (or via video conference), at least once every semester but also whenever he/she needs some advice after consultation with him/her. The aim is to receive advice on university life, general program requirements and policies, electives, adherence to regulation and of course referral to other services if needed (e.g. liaison office and internship), which they can guide him/her in enriching academic opportunities, and provide any useful advice they feel will contribute to personal and academic growth.
The Curriculum Committee considers the role of the Academic Advisor to be of decisive importance as it is the first level of solving and alleviating concerns and questions and looks forward to a good cooperation between students and members of the Faculty of Education.
