Master in Information Systems
The Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies in Information Systems - University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, operates since 1996.
It focuses on the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to Economy, Society, Education, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting and in the promotion of academic research in the related fields.
More specifically, the programme aims at the:
advancement of knowledge in the related fields
promotion of academic-scientific research
preparation of scientists capable of following an academic career and
successful response in the market needs for high-skilled employees in companies-institutions of the private and public sector.
The official teaching language is Greek and the successful completion of the Programme provides access to Doctoral (PhD) studies.
Management-operation
The Programme is managed by a by a six-member Board (Interdepartmental Committee) and operates according to the Official Regulations of Interdepartmental Programmes of Postgraduate Studies of University of Macedonia.
Faculty
The Academic Staff of the Programme is comprised of 26 academics-professors from University of Macedonia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. External speakers are also invited, for lectures and workshops in specialized topics.
Infrastructure
The Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies in Information Systems has 2 computer labs, with 50 PC stations in total, where the programme?s courses are taught. Use of the computer labs is free to all the postgraduate students of the programme (Master?s diploma students and Ph.D. candidates), according to the time schedule of the labs, which is announced in the beginning of each semester.
