"LAW & INFORMATICS"
Call for Applications – Deadline: January 15, 2026
The Department of Applied Informatics of the School of Information Sciences (University of Macedonia) and the Department of Law of the Law School (Democritus University of Thrace) announce the opening of the 10th cycle of the Inter-institutional Postgraduate Program (IPP) "Law and Informatics," leading to a Master of Science (MSc) in "Law and Informatics."
1. Eligible Candidates
The program accepts graduates from:
- Departments of Informatics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and other Science or Engineering Departments.
- Departments of Law, Political Science, Social Sciences, International Studies, Management, Economics, Accounting, and Finance.
- Equivalent degrees from recognized foreign institutions.
- Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) in related fields, as well as Higher Military and Police Academies.
- Graduates of other University departments may be admitted following a decision by the Program Committee.
Foreign Degree Recognition: If degrees are granted by foreign universities, certificates of equivalence from DOATAP (Hellenic NARIC) must be submitted, unless the institution and degree type are already included in the National Registry of Recognized Foreign Institutions (https://mitroa.doatap.gr/).
2. Language Requirements
- English: Minimum Level B2 (Good knowledge). Proof can be provided via recognized certificates (accepted by ASEP), a degree from an English-speaking University, or a degree in English Philology.
- Greek: For non-Greek native speakers, a certificate of Greek language proficiency is required.
3. Program Structure & Fees
- Duration: Three (3) semesters.
- Mode of Delivery: 12 weeks of lectures per semester. At least 8 weeks are conducted via distance learning.
- Attendance: Maximum of 4 absences allowed per course.
- Tuition Fees: 3,300 Euros (Exemptions apply for students meeting specific legal criteria).
- Capacity: Up to 50 students will be admitted for the cycle starting in March 2026.

5. Required Documents

- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Copy of Degree(s) and official transcripts (detailed grades).
- Two (2) Recommendation Letters.
- Proof of English language proficiency (certified/notarized copies where applicable).
- Proof of research activity or relevant professional experience (if any).
- Copy of ID or Passport.
