EXTERNAL FOCUS

1. International collaborations with HEIs and scientific organizations to achieve research excellence.
2. Development of foreign language study programs that will be a pole of attraction for international students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies
3. Cooperation with entities and organizations of the regional economy and society for the promotion of the university as a pole of innovation.

INTERNAL FOCUS

1. Enhancement of the organizational function and strengthening the student-centered culture in decision-making processes.
2. Continuous improvement of the existing undergraduate and postgraduate programs of studies.
3. Design of new undergraduate and postgraduate programs of studies highly inter- connected with society and the business sector.

STRATEGIC PLANNING UNIT
Mission
The mission of the Strategic Planning Unit is the preparation of the strategic plan of the University of Macedonia and the drafting of program planning agreements.

The Strategic Planning Unit consists of the
             a) Strategic Planning Committee and the
             b) Strategic Planning Service

Responsibilities:

• prepares a strategic plan proposal for the academic and research development of the University
• recommends to the Institution’s competent bodies its strategic plan, planning agreements and the proposed action plans for implementation
• supports the coordination and implementation of the Institution’s action plans as well as the plans of its academic and support units and services
• evaluates development plans for the University's academic and research units, including
             a) digital transformation plans,
             b) equal access for persons with disabilities and special educational needs, and  
            c) sustainable development.
• cooperates with the Quality Assurance Unit of the Institution
• collects, processes and analyzes data on the operation of the academic and support units and services of the Institution.
• carries out studies to support academic development and achieves the goals of the Ιnstitution
• monitors the progress of projects related to the development of the infrastructure and equipment of the University
• cooperates with the digital administration unit of the University in order to develop an information system for monitoring the implementation of the strategic plan,  the Institution’s agreements as well as the annual objectives set by the Institution.
