"Greek Music Audiovisual Collections (M.EL.O.S.)"
The project "Greek Music Audiovisual Collections" (acronym: M.EL.O.S.) is a research project that uses innovative IT tools to link Music with Librarianship. It was co-funded by Greece and the European Union (Greece 2.0, National Recovery and Resilience Plan) from April 2022 to March 2025 and was completed in January 2026.
As part of the project, three "Local Music Ontology Repositories (Τ.Α.Μ.Ο.)" were created, containing evidence and metadata from the participating institutions:
i. the "Lilian Voudouri" Music Library of Greece of the Association "Friends of Music" with the "Mikis Theodorakis Score Archive",
ii. the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia with the "Greek Double Bass Archive (E.A.K.)" of Professor Evgenios Politis,
iii. the Department of Music Studies of the University of Ioannina with the "Vasilis Tsitsanis Sound Recording Collection,"
the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, focusing on the computational, comparative, and qualitative analysis of performances and interpretations, and
the "Central Music Establishment Archive (KEMKA)" with all entities focusing on musical figures, musical works, events, programs, recordings, scores, music publications, etc., while the development of the ReasonableGraph platform was supported by Altsol - N. Papazis & Co.
Since February 2026, the scientific responsibility, management, and supervision of T.A.M.O. – PAMAK has been assumed by Associate Professor Petros Vouvaris.
