Course Outlines

The curriculum includes the 1^st part of grammar and vocabulary of the Bulgarian language. What is emphasized is the understanding of texts about everyday life and the production of relevant vocabulary. The curriculum is carefully divided in units-lessons, which contain phonetic and grammar exercises so that the student has easy access while fully understands the course material.

Course Outlines

The curriculum includes the 2^nd part of grammar and vocabulary of the Bulgarian language. Particular emphasis is given on the grammar verbal categories (voice, mood, tense, inclination). Skills and strategies on understanding texts of general interest are developed. At the same time, skills on producing written speech such as description of everyday situations and compilation of letter (e-mail) and brief CV are being developed.

The teaching program includes grammar and syntactic issues of the Bulgarian language. The syllabus is tailored to the needs of the students and gives them the opportunity to practice their skills in understanding and producing written and spoken speech in everyday communication situations. The course provides reading and comprehension of texts with historical, geographic, economic and political content.

The teaching program includes thematic units for practicing written and spoken speech such as: Professional life / Work, Nutrition, Natural environment, Holidays, Education, Social contacts, Transport and travel. The above-mentioned themes are provided with a sufficient number of texts, through which students will enrich their vocabulary and language activities, develop the language level and gain a wider knowledge of many of the topical issues of contemporary Bulgarian language.

Course Outlines

The content of this course is based on the further enhancement of the knowledge and the development of linguistic skills through the study and analysis of the rhetorical structures that compose the various forms of discourse. The aim of the analysis is to record the structures found in different textual genres (scientific essays, articles, studies, letters, presentations, etc.) and to use the obtained information to organize the discourse and the style that realizes linguistic choices at the level of syntax and vocabulary. At the same time, strategies for the better understanding and producing of the discourse will be developed that are linked to the cultural and political dimension of the language.

Course Outlines

The content of this course focuses on the translation of selected texts representing different linguistic varieties of discourse. Its main aim is to use translation as a linguistic, cultural and mediating process and study the function of the language systems, in order to further expand knowledge of authentic language use as reflected in the speech samples derived from the texts. In the translation activities stage, communication skills are improved and socio-cultural differences are demonstrated through which intercultural competence and linguistic fluency are fostered.

Το περιεχόμενο των μαθημάτων βασίζεται στην περαιτέρω διεύρυνση και ανάπτυξη γνώσεων και γλωσσικών δραστηριοτήτων στον τομέα της οικονομικής και εμπορικής ορολογίας και στη γλώσσα της επικοινωνίας. Προβλέπεται μεγάλος αριθμός από σχετικά κείμενα για ανάγνωση και επεξεργασία και ασκήσεις για ανάπτυξη του γραπτού και προφορικού λόγου. Θεματικές ενότητες: α) οικονομία/οικονομικά ζητήματα, β) επαγγελματική δραστηριότητα, γ) αγορά εργασίας δ) οικονομική διαχείριση/τραπεζικά.
