Teaching and Learning Center

Establishment - Purpose

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is established at the University of Macedonia to act as a focal point for the collection and sharing of good practices and educational material. Moreover, combined with the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), it will contribute to the quality assurance of the educational process; one of the University’s strategic goals.

Objectives

Objectives of TLC:

i) Organising seminars/workshops and learning cycles, to inform and support all teaching staff in innovative practices in education, as well as to exchange know-how in relation to current educational trends/approaches.

(ii) Training and supporting all teaching staff in relation to the use of ICTs.

iii) Establishing a focal point for the collection and sharing of educational material, in both printed and digital format.

iv) Developing a community of practice that will support the communication and exchange of ideas between teaching staff members regarding good practices, but also problems that arise during teaching.

v) Conducting studies that inform and facilitate the development of innovative educational material, the publication of scientific journals, etc.

vi) Establishing channels of communication with institutions, centers, offices, both domestic and abroad, in matters of educational services offered.

Supervision

TLC is supervised by the Vice Rector for Administrative, Academic and Student Affairs.
