Η Συντονιστική Επιτροπή του ΠΜΣ στην Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη και Αναλυτική Δεδομένων σας προσκαλεί τη Δευτέρα 3 Ιουνίου 2019, στις 18:00, στο αμφιθέατρο 13 του Πανεπιστημίου Μακεδονίας, στην ομιλία/σεμινάριο του Neil Yorke-Smith, Αναπληρωτή Καθηγητή στο Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science του Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, με τίτλο:

Tabu-Based Adaptive Large Neighbourhood Search for Time/Sequence-Dependent Scheduling Problems with Time Windows

Ακολουθεί η περίληψη της ομιλίας και σύντομο βιογραφικό του ομιλητή:

Abstract: An important class of scheduling problems is characterised by time-dependency and/or sequence-dependency with time windows. We introduce and analyze four algorithmic ideas for this class: a novel hybridization of adaptive large neighbourhood search (ALNS) and tabu search (TS), randomized generic neighbourhood operators, a partial sequence dominance heuristic, and a fast insertion strategy. An evaluation of the resulting hybrid algorithm on two domains, a real-world multi-orbit agile Earth observation satellite scheduling problem, and an order acceptance and scheduling problem, shows that it robustly outperforms a mixed integer programming method, a two-stage hybridization of ALNS and TS, and recent state-of-the-art metaheuristic methods. This is joint work with L. He and M. de Weerdt.

Short bio: Neil Yorke-Smith is an Associate Professor of Socio-Technical Algorithmics in the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. His research aims to help people make decisions in complex socio-technical situations. He leverages agent-based modelling, constraint-based scheduling, machine learning and data analytics, and social simulation to address real-world applications. Publications available at: http://member.acm.org/~nyorke-smith
